Summary:
The MK-VII-B Cygnus class heavy scout is a medium-sized starship. The primary mission of this starship is long-range exploration. This vessel is designed to push back the frontiers of the Federation, gaining knowledge and scientific data as it progresses. To this end, the Cygnus class starship is equipped with a wide variety of research facilities. Construction of Endeavour was authorized by the Starfleet Appropriation of 2141. Her registry number had originally been assigned to the hull of the Constitution class starship project USS Ketoi. That project, however, was one of a number of that heavy cruiser class which were cancelled in favor of the leading-edge design of the Cygnus class development project.
Thus, Endeavour was designated NCC-1768. She was built under the supervision of the Star Fleet Division at the San Francisco naval yards, Earth Station Joshua. Her keel was "laid" in the orbital shipyards on Earthdate May 12, 2246. She was launched two years, four months later on November 15, 2248. After final construction and inspections were completed, she was commissioned July 6, 2249. Following spaceworthiness trials, Endeavour took her shakedown cruise for three months beginning September 4, 2250. She was then placed on line duty and began her first 5-year mission March 31, 2251. This high-quality full-color packet consists of five 11"x17" fold-out sheets which show 5 external views of the ship, as well as a detailed internal cross-section.
