Everyone tells other things. I've read somewhere that there were several DOS utilities for flashing. I could not find the other ones. All I could find were files that contained the magic string 'this program cannot not be run in DOS mode' except for one WE110.EXE. Since the size was almost 4MB it could not be a legal DOS file. Stupid me didn't check any further. The file is also marked as packed by UPX. I hadn't seen that is was a self- extractor! Anyway, I still wouldn't have believed that I could extract anything from it, because in plain DOS (without a large amount of extended memory) you can't ever handle EXE files that large. (WE110.EXE couldn't run) Then (yesterday) I found a remark that it was an archive from which you could easily extract the files by using 'unzip'. Whell, I only had a version of PKUNZIP, but it did the job. FLASH.EXE v0.3 came out, including some example scripts. I've read that FLASH.EXE v0.5e was not suitable for dumping and that I should use FLASH.EXE v0.3 for doing that. Bad luck however. FLASH (0.3) -5v said correctly that it was a 3 volt device. FLASH -3v said that it didn't support these 3 volt devices. Maybe Flash0.3 indeed doesn't support 'modern' 3.3v types, or it can't handle my PCMCIA interface (IBM Thinkpad 600E). (Playing with the accompaying LEGACY.EXE didn't help.) I still can't find why wlan-ng doesn't talk to my prism2.5 card (BenQ). The LED doesn't come alive, there's no answer on cardctl ident. There's no special compile option for prism2.5. Wlan-ng-0.2 and wlan-ng-0.2.1-pre1 won't work with that card. Wlan-ng-0.2.1-pre2 won't even compile. I coundn't find CVS either. So not much progress to report thusfar. Regards, Wim. ----- wim@djo.tudelft.nl -----
