According to AMD's data sheet on the AM29F040, the electronic signature (device ID) that the AM29F040 returns is 01A4 (01A4 = AMD 29F040). The AMD branded IC on the left instead returns C2A4 (C2A4 = Micronix 29F040). Purposely relabelled to a make (AMD) that can command more money ? Or, to keep things simple, all 29F040 get relabelled with the same label ? |

The problem here is that "V20" is inconsistent with "D70116". V20 = D70108 V30 = D70116 This is a mistake that one would not expect NEC to make. |
