和英翻訳 比較 ［to English Note］ 「令和三年四月二十九日」
近頃、「PC110」の縁で、外国の方と交信をするようになり、それに合わせて、当苑の記事に「英語ノート」を付すようになった。
しかし、昔から和文英訳（英作文）は苦手で、"一行"作成するにも、随分時間が掛かる。
更に、出来た"その行"も、全く自信が無い。
今は、「Google翻訳」の手（？）を借りて、一度、英文に翻訳して貰い、それを手直しした後、更にその英文を日本語文に直して、確認して仕上げている。
それで、改めて気が付いたのは、元の日本語文が拙いと、上手く翻訳出来なくて、とんでもない英文が出て来る。（GiGo?!）
まぁ、当たり前の話だが。
その「Google翻訳」は"オンライン"でしか使えないので、"オフライン"で使えるものも、欲しくなった。
幾種か試そうと思っているが、今、「こりゃ英和！」というのを試してみている。
比べてみると、前者の英文は、余分な語が少ないが、意図や内容は良く通じるし、"生き々々した感じ"がある。（図２［クリック］）
他方、後者の英文は、説明に過不足は無いが、説明的／逐語訳的で、ぎくしゃくしていて、まどろっこしい。（図１）
まぁ、私の日本語文は、主語が無いのが、一因かもしれない。
"オンライン"だと、「Google翻訳」の方が断然良い。
"オフライン"では、「こりゃ英和！」も使えないことは無いが、元の日本語文に、必ず主語を足して、述語も一つだけに制限すれば、間違いの無い/少ない翻訳文が得られるのではないかと思う。
しかし、多分、後でかなり手を加える必要は、ありそうだ。
面白いと思ったのは、「半田鏝」を、片や「Soldering iron」と訳し、他方は「Solder trowel」と訳すところや、"偶々"を、一方は「I happened to see」と訳し、もう一方は「偶々（訳せず）」としたところなどだ。
これらは、多分、"辞書の大きさ（知識量）"から来る"違い"ではないかと思う。
昔の思想家の言葉に、「量は、質に転換する」というのがあったが、これにも当てはまりそうだ。

Japanese-English translation comparison [2021/04/29]
Recently, I started communicating with foreigners on the relation of " PC110 ", and in line with that, I became to add "English notes" to my articles.
However, I have not been good at Japanese-English translation (English composition) for a long time, and it takes a lot of time to create a "one line".
Furthermore, I am not confident in the resulting "line".
Now, I borrowed the hand (?) of " Google translation", had it translated into English once, corrected it, and then I translated the English into Japan again, checking it, and finishing it.
So, I noticed again that if the original Japanese sentence is poor, it cannot be translated well and a ridiculous English sentence comes out. (GiGo ?!)
Well, it's a matter of course.
The " Google translation " can only be used "online", so I wanted something that could be used "offline".
I wants to try a few, but now I'm trying " Korya EiWa ! ".
By comparison, the former English sentence has few extra words, but the intention and content are well understood, and there is a "lively feeling". ( Fig.2 [click] )
On the other hand, the latter English sentence is descriptive/verbatim, jerky, and confusing, although there is no excess or deficiency in the explanation. ( Fig.1 )
Well, my Japanese sentence may be because there is no subject and one line is too complicated, which is not good.
For "online", " Google translation" is definitely better.
In "offline", " Korya EiWa ! " can be used, but be sure to add subject to the original Japanese sentence to make only one predicate.
But maybe it's going to need a lot of work later.
What I found interesting was translating " soldering iron " into a piece or " Soldering iron " and the other into " Solder trowel ".
By the way, " coincidence " is translated as " I happened to see " on one side and " 偶々/coincidence " on the other side.
I think these are probably the "differences" that come from the "dictionary size (knowledge amount)".
In the old thinker's words, "quantity translates into quality" which seems to apply as well.
株式売却 「令和三年四月六日」
ある理由で、ある銘柄の株式を買っていたが、業態は良質なようで、このコロナ不況（？）にも拘らず、「配当金」は、結構安定している。（3.4% 110円／株）
現状では、（資金配分の関係で、）500株しか買っていないが、いずれは、この銘柄を、少なくとも1,000株は保有したいと思っている。
高値で買っておくと、保有中に"含み損"が出てしまうので、極力、安値で買っておきたい。
ここ5年間のチャートを見ると、2,000円前後で買っておけば、当分の間、損失は出ないだろう、と読める。（図２［クリック］）
（尤も、超不況や企業倒産にでもなれば、"含み損・益"なども、無意味にはなるのだが）
．．．しかし、中々良いチャンスが来ない．．．さりとて、何もせずに待っているのも、面白くない。
それで、先月末（権利確定前）に、全部売った。
実は、"配当金目当て"で、500株まで買い増して来たが、"権利確定が近づいた期末"になって、「配当金」と「売却益」（20%税引き）とを比べたら、後者が前者を大幅に上回る状況になった。
やはり、これは、"売り"だっ！
後日、上手く買戻しが出来るかどうかは、未だ読めないが、兎に角、今は収益を増やして、"株の買い増し"を進める方が良いと考えた。
で、"指成"（始め指し値で、終場は成り行きの売り）で、500株全部の売り注文を、（日曜日の夜に）出していたのだが、月曜日（3/29）の朝、期待以上の値で売れたので、ホクホク♪（図１）
．．．しかし、此の構想は、先の長い話（？）だし、また子供達が、こんなギャンブル性の高い"負の遺産"を引き受けるかどうかも、未だ不明だから、今は自分の"趣味のひとつ"として、続けるつもり。
（ま、いざとなったら、"遺産放棄"という手もあるらしいし）
