Cisco AIR-LAP1042N 試用 ［to English Note］
「Mさん」から、「PC110」と一緒に、「Cisco製AIR-LAP1042N」x4と「Buffalo製Giga BS-POE-G2108M」x1も頂いた。
この「AIR-LAP1042N」は業務用だそうで、機能も多いし、出力も大きいらしい。
それに必要な電源は、48Vと特殊だが、（添えて頂いた）「BS-POE-G2108M」から電源供給も出来るので、別電源を用意しなくて済んだ。（感謝！）
．．．さぁ、こんな"業務用高性能機"を上手く使いこなせるだろうか？
暫く考えていたが、高性能とは逆に、低位のAPにして、「PC110」と組み合わせて使えるかどうか、試してみてやろう！と決めた。^^;
「Mさん」から（手書きを含めた）丁寧な"説明書き"を添えて頂いていたので、最初の壁は難無く乗り越えられた。
しかし、「PC110」- Win95,98の"WEPモード"に対応させようとした辺りから、道を外れ難渋し始めた。
その後、1日間苦闘した甲斐あって、何とか「PC110-Win98」と繋がり、更にそれが"インターネット"にも繋がるようになった。（図２［クリック］）
その翌日には、「PC110-Win95」とも繋げられた。
なるほど！これは、「PC110」を含めた"苑内ネット"で、"ファイル転送"などに便利に使えそうだ。（図１）
流石に、Cisco製は老舗製品だけあって、こんな低位なAPとして設定しても、嫌がらずに働いてくれるので有り難い！
しかし、「PC110」は、もう"インターネット閲覧"には使えそうにない。
"http://サイト"も、表面上はアクセス出来るように見えても、やはり、種々の"保護機能"や"邪魔タグ"が多過ぎて時間が掛かる。
"エラー表示"が頻繁に出て、それを消しながら表示させる為に、1ページ描くのに1時間以上も掛かることもあった。

この「Cisco製AIR-LAP1042N」（のメニュー）は、"苑内有線LAN"の「ルータ」に接続して、メイン機のブラウザ（Google Chrome）から呼び出すようにした。
「ルータ」が割り当てた"IPアドレス"を調べるために、「NetEnum」を使わせて貰った。
そのURL（例えば、192.168.0.xx）を、打ち込んだら、（ちゃんと起動していれば）即座に、"Cisco"の応答がある。
リセット後のパスワードは、"Cisco"だった。
（尚、リセットは、MODEボタンを押しながら電源を入れて、10秒以上待ち、そのまま電源を一旦切れば良いらしい）
メニューが沢山あって、何をどうすれば良いか迷うが、知っている項目だけを探して、書き換えて、"Apply"するだけ。
適当な処で、"Save"しておかないと、"Apply"だけではダメなようで、そのままだと翌日、パーになっていたりする。（泣）
多機能であっても、殆どの項目は触らなくて良いらしい。
書き足したり、書き換えた項目は、次のようなもの。（図４［クリック］）
＋ネットワークSSID名
＋暗号化モード（今回は、"WEP"）
＋Key パスワード（今は、"40bit"）
以下は、Summary内の項目（図３）、
＋パワー（近距離だから、ほゞ最低値の2mW）
＋チャネル（例えば、5）
＋国コードは無指定（特に、必要は無さそう）
なかなか接続出来なくて、あちこちを弄りまくったが、最後まで、気が付かなかったのは"チャネル設定"だ。
デフォルトでは、"おおむね空いている、13"になっていた。
だが、昔から、当苑の無線LANは、チャネル10以上は繋がり難かったのを思い出して、低位チャネルに書き直したら、スカーっと繋がった！
＋＋＋ 苑内ネットに利用可能 ＋＋＋
実は、保有「PC110」は、その"動態保存"を目指しているが、出来れば"インターネット接続"までを維持したい。．．．しかし、現実は厳しい。
もう今では、"http://サイト"にしか繋げられないし、その表紙も、随分重くなっている。
エラー・メッセージを出すだけの為に、数分〜数十分を費やしている。（図６［クリック］）
仕方が無いので、当苑の"http://ダミー表紙"を用意して、それが表示出来れば、"インターネット接続"が出来たことにしようと思っている。（図２［クリック］ 苦笑）
実用には、"ファイル転送ネット"として、"無線LAN"を活用しようと思っている。（図５）
ところが、此処でも、"OSバージョン"の違いが問題になって来ている。
「Win95, Win98」マシンのファイルを、「（クソ）Win10」マシンでは読めないという不都合なことが起きている。
止むを得ず、「Win2K」マシンや「Win7」マシンを中継役にして、"ファイル"のやり取りしているのだが、不便だ。
（Win10の大きなお世話は、古い機械にとって、困ったものだ。まぁ、"セキュリティ"問題は大事だが、余計な囲い方・隠し方は迷惑でしかない。で、"すべてのコントロールパネル項目"は、何処だ？！）

From Mr." M ", accompanied with " PC110 " I also received the " Cisco AIR-LAP1042N " x4 and " Buffalo Giga BS-POE-G2108M "x1.
This" AIR-LAP1042N " seems to be for business use, has many functions, and has a large output.

... Now, can I make good use of such a "high-performance machine for business use" ?
I've been thinking about it for a while, but contrary to high performance, I tried to make it low level AP and see if it can be used in combination with the " PC110 ". Let's try it ! ^^;
Mr." M " gave me a polite "explanatory note" (including handwriting), so I was able to overcome the first wall without difficulty.
However, from the point where I tried to correspond to"WEP mode" of " PC110 "- Win95,98 , the road It came off and began to be difficult.
After that, it was worth the struggle for a day, and I managed to connect to the"Internet" with" PC110-Win98 ". (Fig_2 [click])
The next day, it was also connected to with " PC110-Win95 ".
It seems to be useful for "File Transfer" on the " Internal Network " including " PC110 ". (Fig_1)
As expected, there are only well-established products made by Cisco, and even if I set it as such a low-level AP, it will work without dislike, so thank you !
However," PC110 " is no longer likely to be used for"Internet browsing".
Even if the "http://" site seems to be accessible on the surface, it still takes time because there are too many"protective functions" and "obstructive tags".
" Error display " appeared frequently, and it sometimes took more than an hour to draw one page in order to display it while erasing it.
(I have prepared a reference page/dummy page for the old browser : "http://www3.kcn.ne.jp/~tkuno", but that is a dead end. Fig_2 [click])

+++ Remake points +++
Now, this " Cisco AIR-LAP1042N " is connected to the"router" of the"Internal LAN" and the menu can be changed / modified with a browser. (eg : Google Chrome ).
I used " NetEnum " to find out the "IP address" assigned by the "router".
When I typed in that URL (eg : 192.168.0.xx), I immediately got a response of " Cisco " (if it's running properly).
The password after the reset was " Cisco ".
(To reset, turn on the power while pressing the MODE button, wait for 10 seconds or more, and then turn off the power.)
There are many menus and I'm wondering what to do, but I just search for the items I know, rewrite them, and "Apply".
When I don't "save" at an appropriate time, "Apply" doesn't seem to work after, and if I leave it as it is, it will be vanish the next day. (Cry...)
It seems that most items do not have to be touched even if they are multifunctional.
The items that have added and/or rewritten are as follows. (Fig_4 [click])
+ Network SSID name
+ Encryption mode ("WEP" this time)
+ Key password (now "40bit")
The following are the items in the Summary (Fig_3),
+ Power (because it is a short distance, set to the lowest value 2mW)
+ Channel (for example, 5)
+ Country code is not specified (not necessary ?!)
I couldn't connect easily, so I played around with it, but until the end, I didn't notice the "channel setting".
By default, it was " mostly empty, 13 ".
However, I remembered that it was so difficult to connect for channels 10 and above in my wireless LAN from long ago, and so when I rewrote it to a lower channel, it connected quickly !
+++ Available for the Internal net +++
Actually, my " PC110 " aims to "dynamically keeping", but if possible, I want also to maintain "Internet connection". ... However, the reality is harsh.
Now it can only be connected to the "http://" site and even its cover page is quite heavy.
I spend minutes to tens of minutes just to get an error message. (Fig_6 [click])
There is no help for it, so I will prepare the "http://" dummy cover of my site, and if it can be displayed, I will assume that "Internet connection" has been established. (Fig_2 [click])
For practical use, I'm thinking of using"wireless LAN" as a "file transfer net". (Fig_5)
However, here too, the difference in"OS version" has become a problem.
The inconvenience that files on" Win95, Win98 " machines cannot be read on "(dull) Win10 " machines Is happening.
There is no choice but to use the " Win2K " or the " Win7 " machine as a relay for the "file", but it's inconvenient a littel.
(The big caring of Win10 is a big problem for old machines. Well, the"security" problem is important, but the extra enclosure and hiding is only annoying. So ... where are the "all control panel items" ?!)
