Learning the Keyboard

This is a general guide only.  Read your User's Manual and Quick Reference
Cards to learn what the keys do when using specific digital books.

CLEAR      Clear the screen to a digital book's main prompt or display.

MENU       Show a digital book's menu.

GAME       Show a digital book's menu.

MORE       Show more information about the current display.

LIST       Show a list of words, terms, etc.

SPEC       Do special tasks.

CARD       Show symbols of the installed digital books.

Gold Key Combinations

Gold key combinations are entered by holding gold key while pressing other
keys.

Gold Key               Show the Gold key combinations for a digital book.

Gold Key + Q           Type numbers.

Gold Key + down arrow  Zoom to the end of a display.

Gold Key + up arrow    Zoom to the start of a display.

Gold Key + DN          Show next related display.

Gold Key + UP          Show previous related display.

Direction Keys

UP                     Page up.

DN                     Page down.

BACK                   Backspace, or go back to the previous display.

UP arrow Down arrow    Scroll line by line.  Backward arrow Forward arrow
                       Move the cursor.

Other Keys

A to Z                 Type letters.

ENTER                  Start a main task, such as searching.

HELP                   Show a help message.

ON/OFF                 Turn the Digital Book System on and off.

,- ;: .'               Type punctuation.

? *                    Type punctuation, and do tasks in certain books.

SHIFT                  Shift keys to type capitals and other characters.

SPACE                  Type a space.
