1.  Press and slide open

 the battery compartment cover.

2.  Install two AA batteries observing the polarity (+ and -) symbols
    marked in the battery compartment.  For best performance, use alkaline
    batteries, such as Radio Shack's Cat. No. 23-552.

3.  Replace the cover.

Note:  Never leave weak or dead batteries in the monitor.  They can leak
       chemicals that can damage electronic circuits.  Always remove the
       batteries if you are not going to use the monitor for a few days.
