Selecting a Location

You can place your ET-502's base on a desk, shelf, or table.  It is not
designed for wall mounting.  Select a location that meets these
requirements:

  Near an AC outlet.

  Near a telephone line jack.

  Out of the way of normal activities.

  Away from electrical machinery, electrical appliances, and metal walls
  or filing cabinets.

  Away from wireless intercoms, alarms, and room monitors.

The base's location affects the phone's range.  If you have a choice of
several locations, try each location to see which one provides the best
performance.

If the phone line jack is not a modular jack, you can update the wiring
yourself, using jacks and adapters available at your local Radio Shack
store.  Or, you can let the phone company update the wiring for you.

NOTE:  The phone company will charge you for the installation of the
       necessary jacks.  The phone company will ask you for the USOC
       number of the jack to be installed.  This number is RJ11C for a
       baseboard jack.

Placing the Base On a Desk Top

Follow these steps when you place the base on a desk, shelf, or table.

1.  Plug the end of the modular cord into a modular phone jack.

2.  Plug the AC power cord into a standard AC outlet.

3.  Place the handset on the base.
