Your computer sends information to the printer as hexadecimal codes.
The hex dump feature lets you print this information as is, without the
printer interpreting it.  You can use this feature as a diagnostic tool
when you have problems with the computer or the software.

Follow these steps to use the hex dump feature.

1.  Load 8 1/2 inch wide paper.

CAUTION:  The hex dump prints lines that are 8 inches long, so you must
          use 8 1/2 -inch wide paper to protect the platen.

2.  While you hold down ON/OFF LINE, set POWER to ON.  When the
    ON/OFF LINE indicator lights, release ON/OFF LINE.

3.  Send the print command from your computer.

4.  Set POWER to OFF to end the hex dump mode.
