Quantum Model Q500 Disk Drive is a random access storage unit using two, 
three, or four non-removable 5 1/4" rigid disk platters as storage media. 
The three models of the Q500 series are the Q520 which has a 21.33 MB cap-
acity on three disks with six movable heads. The Q530 which has a 31.99 MB 
capacity on three disks with six movable heads, and the Q540 which has a 
42.66 MB capacity on four disks, with eight movable heads. All three Q500 
models access 512 data tracks. Using a rotary positioner with its inherent 
simplicity of mechanical construction and electronic control allows both 
low cost and high reliability to be achieved.
