NOTE: 2500 series COMPUTERS:
Requires Setup modified to "DISABLE ROM".

Use the FDISK command on your MS-DOS disk.
FDISK command options are listed at bottom of screen

Choose #4 display DOS partition information  <ENTER>
If any partitions exist:
Choose #3 delete DOS partition  <ENTER>
Choose #1 delete primary DOS partition  <ENTER>

Choose #1 create DOS partition  <ENTER>
Choose #1 create primary DOS partition  <ENTER>

MS-DOS 4.0/5.0/6.0 will prompt you with "Do you wish to use the maximum
space available?" Choose (Y) for 80MB partition and disregard the below
listed, simply proceed with FORMAT. 

MS-DOS 3.2 or 3.3 will prompt you with "Do you wish to use the maximum space
available?" Choose (Y) for 32 MEG on C:.
Your machine will now reboot:

At the A: prompt with MS-DOS in drive A: type:  FDISK  <ENTER>
Choose #1 create DOS partition  <ENTER>
Choose #2 create extended DOS partition  <ENTER>
To accept the default size (remainder) of available disk space <ENTER>.  

Logical drives will need to be assigned, at the FDISK Main Menu:
Choose #1 Create DOS Partition  <ENTER>
Choose #3 Create Logical Drive  <ENTER>

When last logical drive has been selected:
Exit FDISK        <ESC>.

You are now ready to FORMAT your drive.
The correct command to FORMAT an active (no disk needed) partition is:
FORMAT C: /S  <ENTER>

Once the Format is complete you are ready to use the Smartdrive to install 
program and files.
