Toy Review: Definitely not the Cyclonus many of us know from the original Transformers (Generation One) series. I won't go into the character aspect, but the toy is pretty cool. He's a helicopter and he has a trigger in the back that activates his rotor as well as a mechanism just under his cockpit, and at the front of it. Hooking his Minicon Crumplezone to his front allows the gun turret on Crumplezone to snap back and forth occasionally as the trigger is pulled on. There's a set of Minicons that can also hook up underneath and have their gimmicks activated by Cyclonus' mechanism. He has missile launchers triggered by Minicons on his arms that can be used in helicoptor or robot mode. Fortunately, in robot mode, he folds in half so that his tail hangs down behind him rather than sticking way out the back like Starscream. This gives him a good profile and keeps him stable. His rotor is on his back at shoulder height, and it looks good there. His legs each have a pop up machine gun that you release with a Minicon. He's not super poseable, but at least his arms move fairly well. Crumplezone is a lackluster Minicon. His main purpose, in my eyes, is to make Cyclonus' cockpit look better, by essentially replacing it. His tank mode looks passable, but his robot mode is weak. Don't buy Cyclonus for his Minicon, buy him for him.

H will take 'em outside and play about half the day. He's 10. It's his job. I try to keep them intact though... It's hard. I already lost the Claw grabber to my Red Alert. Oh well. I'll find it. I always find pieces missing from my Zoids. Boys are weird.. |
