Introduction
After the huge success of Doom, id Software launched Doom II a year later. The game was built on the same "id Tech 1" game engine as Doom, but with more weapons and larger levels it was a more ambitious title. In some ways failed to match the original - it felt less cohesive as a story and suffered from poor level design through the middle of the game, but with 32 map levels and the new 'Super Shotgun' weapon, it was still a broad game with lots of playability.
As with Doom, 2 players could play simultaneously via a modem connection and up to 4 could play via a network connection. Both co-op mode and deathmatch modes were available. Also the same as the original, there were 9 scale settings to set the size of the game window if you were running on slower hardware.

How to Setup

Immediately after installation is complete, the SETUP utility is run and takes you through controller, music and sound effects setup options:
2) Select Music Sound card and port address:
3) Select Sound Effects device, port address, IRQ, and DMA channel:
4) Select Number of Sound FX to mix:
6) From left: Keyboard/Mouse/Joystick configuration:
7) If you choose to run a network/modem/serial game, you will get this set of options depending on the type of connection you want to use:
